FRACTALS AND EVITAS

EVITA CROWN

Search for:

Fractal, in mathematics, a geometric shape that is complex and detailed in structure at any level of magnification. Often fractals are self-similar-that is, they have the property that each small portion of the fractal can be viewed as a reduced-scale replica of the whole. In the mathematical language of calculus, such a curve cannot be differentiated. Many such self-repeating figures can be constructed, and since they first appeared in the 19th century they have been considered as merely bizarre.

A turning point in the study of fractals came with the discovery of fractal geometry by the Polish-born French mathematician Benoit B. Mandelbrot in the 1970s. Mandelbrot adopted a much more abstract definition of dimension than that used in Euclidean geometry, stating that the dimension of a fractal must be used as an exponent when measuring its size. The result is that a fractal cannot be treated as existing strictly in one, two or any other whole-number dimensions. Instead, it must be handled mathematically as though it has some fractional dimension. Fractal geometry is not simply an abstract development.

Mandelbrot has suggested that mountains, clouds, aggregates, galaxy clusters, and other natural phenomena are similarly fractal in nature, and fractal geometry's application in the sciences has become a rapidly expanding field. In addition, the beauty of fractals has made them a key element in computer graphics.

Fractals have also been used to compress still and video images on computers. In 1987, English-born mathematician Dr Michael F. Barnsley discovered the Fractal Transform which automatically detects fractal codes in digitized photographs. The discovery spawned fractal image compression, used in a variety of multimedia and other image-based computer applications.

Evitas

Knowing that many problems of the modern man could not be solved by traditional methods, Mr. Papian & Mr. Petrovic invented a technique called EVITA. Working together with Mr. Petrovic and using fractal geometry as a tool, Mr. Papian implemented his knowledge in the EVITA technique, producing a vision of the clean inner version of the human spirit. The EVITA technique could be used on many ways but the most important one is to send a very clean message to a person and to influence a person (persons) on a projected way.

Biographical Information

I was born on November 16, 1952 in Zagreb the former YUGOSLAVIA, and educated at the University of Belgrade, in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. I started my working career as an Electrical Engineer, though science has always been my main interest. Whilst working on research on tube welding, I won a scholarship to UNIS-SARAJEVO. There I specialized in "The Planing and Design of Information Systems". The practical work of designing an information system in factory UNIS TC (Tube Factory) DERVENTA, led to my inclusion in the top-management of the company.

After that first part of my career, I started my own private company, when this was permitted by law in the former Yugoslavia. The activities of the firm were in the areas of: assembling personal computers, Export and Import, and my wife's beauty salon. My company Firma SPS-YU Corporation developed very quickly in very short time, and became very profitable.

The outbreak of war and my subsequent displacement prevented me from doing further work in my company, but I was able to continue the research of market in Europe (West and East) as well as in the USA, and I am still at a high level of computer literacy.
